I must’ve been under a rock the day that the first casting news came out because this second news only made me do not one but two double takes in quick succession. K-ent is reporting today that Lee Jong Seok has been offered the male lead Prince Heinrey (later Emperor) in period romance K-drama Remarried Empresswhere Shin Mina is already in talks for the titular female lead Empress Navier. It’s adapted from a popular webtoon about a very smart and capable Empress who is married is an absolute trash of an Emperor Sovieshu (vomit gag gag gag) who divorces her to marry the biggest green tea bitch (lu cha biao 绿茶婊) in the history of green tea bitches Rashta, who thank the lord has the best nickname from readers as Trashta. I read the webtoon when the drama adaptation was first announced two years ago but then gradually forgot to check on new chapters every week but I did like it very much and find the leads very cool characters to root for. So this casting works for me, I think Shin Mina and Lee Jong Seok vibe their respective characters, can generate chemistry, and have the acting chops. Just please get this drama made now rather than still in discussion phase.
