Google’s Year in Search report for TV shows features Queen of Tears in the seventh spot, making it the most searched K-drama of 2024. Upon its conclusion in April, the Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won starrer recorded an unprecedented average nationwide viewership rating of 24.850 per cent, according to Nielsen Korea. Meanwhile on Netflix, the series parked itself for weeks in the global non-English series list, recording over 600 million cumulative viewing hours (617.8 million), according to Hindustan Times.
In Queen of TearsKim Ji Won essays Hong Hae In, the Queens Group heiress, while her husband, Kim Soo Hyun plays the legal director Baek Hyun Woo, managing his wife’s family enterprise. While the couple is working towards a legal separation, life takes an unexpected turn as Hae In is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
